ApoB
Apolipoprotein B, the protein on every atherogenic particle (LDL, VLDL, Lp(a)), in mg/dL. Optimal range: ESC 2019: below 65 / 80 / 100 mg/dL for very high / high / moderate risk. 2026 ACC/AHA dyslipidemia guideline tightened to below 55 / 70 / 90.
What it measures
Apolipoprotein B, the protein on every atherogenic particle (LDL, VLDL, Lp(a)), in mg/dL. One ApoB equals one artery-clogging particle, making it a direct count of cardiovascular risk particles.
Why it matters
ApoB predicts cardiovascular events better than LDL cholesterol because it counts particles rather than the cholesterol inside them. Longevity clinicians treat it as the primary lipid target.
Optimal ranges
Sourced targets, not just lab reference ranges. Lab ranges describe the population; these describe where the evidence says you want to be.

How to improve it
- 1
Reduce saturated fat and refined carbs
- 2
Aerobic exercise and weight loss
- 3
Increase soluble fiber intake
- 4
Discuss statins or other lipid-lowering therapy with your doctor if elevated
